Interim Vice President Total Rewards, North America - Diageo:

During a period of HR restructuring, this role provided leadership to the Total Rewards function and structural relationship with the HR Leadership Team and senior management. Initiatives ranged from the conduct of annual processes such as the performance and rewards program and open enrollment, to substantive review of programs such as executive bonus plans, to review of plans in light of new and evolving regulations, e.g., 409A, Pension Protection Act, and the SEC's executive compensation disclosure requirements. The role also provided support to HR Business Partners in pursuing their talent agendas.

Project Leader for HR compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley - Diageo:

The overall thrust of the role was to ensure an integrated approach across HR to achieving SOX compliance and to embed the processes, behaviors, and testing requirements within the HR operations themselves so that ongoing ways of working achieved SOX compliance efficiently and effectively without the burden of additional resources. Primary attention was given to the North American, UK, and Republic of Ireland markets, with support being provided on an as requested basis to other markets. Good working relationships with Finance and Auditing were essential. The project to assure first year compliance, which was accomplished successfully, included analysis, review, and recommendations on adopting a top-down, risk-based approach to applying SOX to HR activities going forward so that only what really impacted s404 reporting was targeted for SOX level control.

Interim Vice President, Rewards - British Telecom, Americas:

This role’s main function was to develop the strategy for a Total Rewards Program, while also managing the design, development, implementation and administration of the Benefits program. Consultant had to establish policies and processes to ensure global data integrity and interface with the parent company in the United Kingdom to ensure compliance and consistency. Oversight and monitoring of vendor performance as it relates to compliance, contractual agreements, and service quality to the company and its employees was also a major aspect of this role. Consultant ensured the company’s plans and programs reflected the competitive market through external benchmarking and would make recommendations for overall program or plan design changes. Another aspect of this role was to manage communications to employees regarding benefit programs, and develop and implement competitive compensation programs.

Director of Benefits - Chemtura:

During a period of HR restructuring, a Director of Benefits was placed to both assess the current needs of the company and its employees, while building new strategies and assisting in building out the Benefits department. The goal was to create a stronger Benefits area under the new HR leadership.

Director of Global Staffing - Chemtura:

This role’s main drive was to create a stronger recruiting function within the company. At the same time, it assessed and filled current vacancies. The Director of Global Staffing created a more streamlined and functional recruiting model.
